RES. 003
Changing Room Gallery presents 'RES. 003’ featuring Alfie Rouy and Marcos Wolodarsky. For the third in our residency’s series, we took over a 1960s office space in Leicester Square. With London just starting to open up again from the pandemic, this experience provided an opportunity for the artists to get back into a working pattern.
Rouy’s paintings subtly explore the movement and exchange of energy within oneself and between others. Warm, hazy colours encapsulate his interest in the intangible and add a surrealist dream-like quality to his work.
Wolodarsky is an artist investigating the line between rediscovery and alienation. His work explores the perceptions of external and internal realities, and the spaces these two can meet. Exploring the strangeness of things that surround us.
The figurative painters adapted to the space as they would any studio. They also reflected that they were able to work more quickly at times, exploring more energetic media within their respective practices.
